Who are we?
Chesterfield Operatic Society (COS) is Chesterfield’s award-winning amateur dramatic society for adults. The society currently consists of 83 members ranging from 18-78, all coming together with their shared love of theatre. We’ve been entertaining audiences since our first show in 1905, and have a proud history of high-quality productions and a reputation for talent, inclusivity and community spirit.
Friends of COS
For a suggested annual donation of £15, you can become a Friend of Chesterfield Operatic Society and your kind commitment will help us to keep bringing our shows to life in Chesterfield. This supports both physical and mental health, not just for the performers and all taking part, but for audiences too. It also contributes to personal confidence, social interaction and, of course, is one of the best ways to meet new people and form lifelong friendships.
What does your annual donation include:
- A free show programme for each show attended (via a unique emailed voucher)
- Your name in all show programmes throughout the calendar year
- Recognition on Chesterfield Operatic Society’s website
- Regular email communications, including details on upcoming shows in advance of the general public
